Boohoo, shedding *virtual tears*. I'm not on the playa (in body, at any rate); you know how it is--"Adulthood" = sacrifices. But it's great to see this positive PR on BM. (I will claim a smidgin of credit for these developments--last year, I created an eco-footprint survey for Brane Villagers; it was more to seed the concept, than a real deal, but look now. . .) Burners get their eco-house in order: BURNING MAN GOES GREENMeredith May, Chronicle Staff Writer With the Burning Man art festival in the Nevada desert starting Monday, a group of San Francisco scientists is busy calculating how much the event contributes to global warming. Encouraged by the resurgence of the green movement, the scientists are taking a hard look at all those sacred flaming temples, gas-powered scooters shaped like cupcakes, and hundreds of rumbling RVs With an idea that would make Al Gore smile, the scientists have created Cooling Man, an online calculator that determines how many tons of greenhouse gases each of the 37,000 "burners" will produce with their art projects and community camps. For the first time, Burning Man participants will be able to "offset" their global warming impact much the same way large corporations do, by investing in clean energy projects. "We think Cooling Man is pretty cool," said Marian Goodell, Burning Man's director of communications and business. Visitors to the Cooling Man Web site, www.coolingman.org, will answer a series of questions about their transportation to the playa, propane use, generator hours and how much wood they plan to burn, and the computer generates a total tonnage of greenhouse gases per person. More. Story also covered at WorldChanging. Also see: . . . All fresh 06 initiatives. The SugarCube "Global Warming" Prefab House is also being demo'd on the playa. that There Were No Planes on 9/11"
[Gerard Holmgren, from transcript of his talk @ TV Fakery Conference, NYC, Aug 13.] "Sept 11 is not only a major driver of world policy and community attitudes, itâs iconic images are a major driver of the fundamental psyche and world view of the whole planet. Iconic images in peopleâs mindsâthings like a mushroom cloud, a Nazi rally, a starving African child, the moon landingâform a very important part of peopleâs views in the area where fact meets mythology. There can be little doubt that the image of cartoon 175 approaching the Sth tower has already become one of the top iconic images of the last 100 years. And that if unchallenged, then it will continue to heavily influence the psyche of much of the world for many years to comeâperhaps several generations. There will be widely differing responses to it, both emotionally and in terms of political and social responses. There will be furious arguments over what it really means, why it happened, who did it, how various people should have responded and whether it could happen again. All of this analysis and emotional response over a cartoon. A delusion. This means an entire world gripped by mass delusion. An entire world where even the most intelligent analysts and compassionate activists are effectively insane. This relates strongly to my previous point that bad assumptions and bad information lead to bad decisions. If a cartoon is allowed to become one of the most iconic images driving peopleâs world viewâ thinking that the cartoon is realâthen everyone will be making a lot of bad decisions. *No-one* will be able to make intelligent analysis or good decisions about almost anything, not matter how well intended or otherwise intelligent they may be. For the manipulators, having the entire world worrying and arguing over the meaning of a cartoon as if it were real means mass delusion, which means that mass mind control, however and wherever they choose, becomes easier than ever." "Are you a Planer or a No-Planer?"
I admit it, it's bad, it's unhealthy, & I'm totally binge-ing again on 9/11. It's the ultimate cognitive Hall of Mirrors, weirder & weirder the deeper you descend. References to the "No Planes" theory keep popping up on 911blogger.com; at first blush, the most ridiculous claim yet, only slightly more outrageous than the conspiracy theory that Osama Bin Laden ran it all from his hole in Afghanistan. But I finally checked out the argument for it, on Gerard Holmgren's site, 911closeup.com. Yikes. Then I found his critique of the entire movement, "Truth Truthlings," and "Nazis Didn't Lose the War." Whoaaa. . . the Abyss opens. Is the entire 9/11 phenomenon, including many big names in the "9/11 Truth" movement itself, a giant "mass mind control experiment"? All the variant theories, all the anomalies, designed into the original scenario, intentionally?? To degrade the notion of "Truth", to undermine people's capacity and willingness to think for themselves? [Of course, if you're a loyal postmodernist, this is no problelm. There is no such thing as "Truth" anyway. It's just an Essentialist fantasm.] A huge version of "Good Cop, Bad Cop," that insinuates the need for cops ever more deeply into the mass psyche. Even more mindboggling than 9/11 "Inside Job," . . . but not impossible. . . it fits all too well with the long history of psyops . . . What's the phrase Bateson used for this kind of thing? "I'm not talking to you now, don't notice the fact that I'm not talking to you." "Double Bind is a communicative situation where a person receives different or contradictory messages. The term, coined by the anthropologist Gregory Bateson, attempts to account for the onset of schizophrenia without simply assuming an organic brain dysfunction. [1] [2]"
Or as Patrick McGuhan used to say on the Prisoner, "Be Seeing You." Categories: Memes, undergrowth friends

This loooong, heavily substantiated analysis from Webster Tarpley, written summer of last year. Paints the strategic big picture in which the latest fake airline plot, and war on Lebanon/Hezbollah, play their roles. Essentially they set out to disable Hezbollah so that Israel can't be attacked close to home when US/Israel bombs Iran. The only problem I have with Tarpley is his claim that "Hubbert's Peak" is mythical, a "monocausal explanation." Which doesn't disprove it. Other than that, most of this makes sense, and is still being born out on a daily basis: "All options are on the table" US regime in headlong flight forward towards war with Iran? By Webster Griffin TarpleyAuthor - 9/11 Synthetic Terrorism: Made in USA 08/27/05-- -- WASHINGTON DC/LOS ANGELES -- With the direct threat of military attack against Iran issued Aug. 13 by Bush, the world has entered a phase of new and acute danger of general war. Bush made the threat in an interview with Israeli television. "All options are on the table," said Bush, speaking from his estate in Crawford, Texas. Asked if that included the use of force, Bush replied: "As I say, all options are on the table. The use of force is the last option for any president and you know, we've used force in the recent past to secure our country." (Reuters, dateline Jerusalem, August 13, 2005) Bush's comments were ostensibly made in the context of the US campaign to shut down the Iranian nuclear program, but in reality came in the midst of feverish US-UK preparations for a new 9/11 of state-sponsored, false flag synthetic terrorism which is intended in the intentions of the terrorist controllers in London and Washington to set the stage for the attack on Iran, as well as for martial law austerity dictatorships throughout the English-speaking world, and beyond.
